About Jaclyn
Over 91% of Americans don’t have a solid understanding of how money works and when it comes to women and their relationship with money, even more of us are struggling. We feel anxious when it comes to investing and scared when we think about what life might look like during retirement because we know we’re not on the right path. We know how to make great money but we have no idea how to make that money really work for us. It all seems too complicated and confusing.
Women on average also earn 17% less than men, save less, have more student loan debt and tend to live longer, yet the financial responsibilities are equal.
I’m Jaclyn Cydney. After serving 15 years in the Navy as an Air Traffic Controller I learned exactly what it was to feel the frustration of creative financing. The direct deposits and combined household income took a nose dive because I wasn't only retiring, I was also going through divorce. I went from not looking at price tags, to juggling my bills to keep the lights on and my three kids fed. I needed to get smart about money and I needed to do it fast.
I invested in some courses, got some coaches and really became a student of money and more importantly, mindset. Eventually I reached the point where knowing about and growing my own money wasn't enough, I wanted to teach other women, especially single mothers who are high performing entrepreneurs, how to make better choices without feeling overwhelmed. I wanted to explain in simple language the basics of financial literacy and I wanted to change their lives. Financial illiteracy is a problem that women of all socioeconomic backgrounds face.
The CEO who is in meetings all day everyday knows there’s more to life than running her business yet she doesn’t plan well for retirement because when she finally gets home from work, she still has to answer the dreaded question “what’s for dinner?” There’s no one to consult, and no one to pick up the slack. It’s just her, her kids and her daily responsibilities.
The desire and energy to learn about the best places to invest is just not there for her or any other woman that’s been busy pouring into others all day. Most women are tired and the thought of having to figure out one more thing can be too much.
Sitting with me and going over suitable wealth building strategies takes less than an hour. My solutions are like crockpot cooking. We put everything together, let compound interest do its thing and relax knowing the money is safely making more of itself.
I keep things simple, impactful and easy to understand so learning from me isn’t boring, unrelatable or overwhelming.
